In a landmark development, Awabah has been granted approval by the National Pension Commission (PenCom) to operate as a Payment Solution Service Provider (PSSP). This pivotal endorsement positions Awabah at the forefront of Nigeria’s transition to a digital pension remittance system, underscoring its commitment to financial innovation and inclusion.
Revolutionizing Pension Remittances with PCRS
PenCom’s introduction of the online Pension Contribution Remittance System (PCRS) marks a significant departure from traditional manual processes. This digital platform empowers employers to seamlessly upload their employees’ pension schedules and execute secure payments online, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and transparency in pension contributions.
Awabah Among Elite PSSPs
Awabah joins an esteemed group of nine approved PSSPs, including industry leaders like Interswitch and Pencentral. Employers now have the flexibility to select from these providers to manage their pension remittance processes, ensuring timely and accurate contributions to employees’ Retirement Savings Accounts (RSAs).
Addressing Historical Challenges
The shift to the PCRS is not merely a technological upgrade but a strategic initiative to tackle longstanding issues in pension administration, such as uncredited contributions and verification delays. By automating validation checks and standardizing remittance templates, the system aims to eliminate errors and enhance the accuracy of pension contributions.
Cost-Free Compliance for Employers
PenCom has set a compliance deadline of June 1, 2025, for the adoption of this new system. Notably, the service is offered at no additional cost to employers, promoting widespread adoption and ensuring a smooth transition to the digital platform.
Awabah’s Commitment to Financial Security
Awabah’s inclusion as a PSSP is a testament to its unwavering dedication to enhancing financial security and streamlining pension services for Nigerians. By facilitating efficient pension remittances, Awabah contributes to a future where pension administration is seamless, transparent, and accessible to all.
This development represents a collective advancement for Nigeria’s pension ecosystem, promising improved financial security and streamlined services for both employers and employees nationwide.
