In a groundbreaking collaboration, the Ogun State government, alongside GFA Technologies (GFAT), Microsoft, Google, and Meta, is launching the Gateway Skills Programme at OgunTechHub in Abeokuta. This transformative initiative aims to equip 100,000 Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMSEs), with a special focus on youth, with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies, thereby enhancing their digital marketing capabilities.
Why the Gateway Skills Programme Matters
Fueling Economic Revival
Senator Shuaib Salisu, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Cyber Security, recognizes the pivotal role of this empowerment initiative. He believes that by investing in the digital skills of SMSEs, particularly in a state as promising as Ogun, Nigeria’s economic revival gains momentum. The potential for growth and innovation lies within the state’s vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Mr. Dayo Abiodun, Special Adviser on ICT, emphasizes the deliberate effort of the Ogun State government. Their goal is to expose small business owners and young graduates to the hidden benefits of the digital economy. Through the Gateway Skills Programme, participants will gain practical knowledge, certifications, and immediate working opportunities. Mr. Omololu explains, “We chose Ogun State first among others because of the business-friendly atmosphere created by Prince Dapo Abiodun. A portal will be opened for interested SMSEs to register. We will guide them through diverse training sessions, elevate their products and services, and facilitate access to grants from international and local partners.”
